New Emergency Number at the University of Bayreuth
Safe Campus, 8 May 2020
On May 8, 2020, the Chancellor of the University of Bayreuth officially announced the establishment of a low-threshold phone number for students and staff to call our Campus Security Service.
"The university is a place of learning, working and respectful coexistence. Harassment or assault of any kind will not be tolerated. Should you observe such incidents or be affected yourself, please contact the security service at: +49 921 55-3333."
This number is available 24 hours a day. Help can always be requested,
- if a person is harassed by others inside university buidings or on campus
- when a person on campus feels unsafe in the presence of other people. (For example, the security guard may accompany a person from a building to the bus or to their own car).
Third parties who observe such incidents can also report this to the guard service via the emergency number.
Our security service is on campus with uniformed personnel and can be called directly in the evenings, at night and on weekends. During daytime the security service can be called from the service control center in Bindlach by calling the emergency number.
In immediate emergencies and dangerous situations, please contact the familiar emergency numbers.
